About Us

Wendland Landscape Services, Inc. was founded in 1985 by Russ Wendland.  While working for another nursery Russ studied at UW Madison and received a degree in Landscape Architecture.  After working over a decade in the industry Russ decided to pursue his own company creating Wendland Landscape Services, Inc.  Shortly after he purchased a 48-acre farm in Germantown to run his business from and created Wendland Nursery.  The nursery was originally created to ensure him the plant material he needed for his landscapes, but it quickly turned into a retail location for nursery stock by customer demand.  As his business grew so did his family which also picked up the passion for the industry.  His eldest daughter Jennifer studied and received a degree in Horticulture also from UW Madison and worked in the business for over 20 years while his youngest daughter Elizabeth and son-in-law Josh studied Horticulture at Milwaukee Area Technical College.  With time passing and Russ looking at retirement the company was officially sold over to Josh and Elizabeth in 2023 passing it on to a second generation.
